  • Abstract
Summary form only given. The author discusses a four-year consultant and research work intended to develop a project management method for the Bofors company. The projects concerns large defense systems utilizing many different technologies. The method is required to take care of the various needs from many different categories of human competencies, and will be coordinated and controlled by informatics. The method consists of three process cycles: (1) structuring during planning in different tree structures of function, work, cost, and responsibility; (2) specifying work packages to define the operative units responsibility for them; and (3) controlling progress with the help of activity networks as information bases enabling control by feedback. The different cycles of the structuring process have been considered together with the project dimension of a three-dimensional information system covering the complete R&D process
