Abstract :
The author examines the concept of concurrent engineering and presents a model for the management of concurrent engineering. First, the concurrent engineering approach to new product development is contrasted with the traditional approach to new product development. Secondly, a model for the management of concurrent engineering is presented. Lastly, the framework is used to synthesize the major findings from an exploratory study of exemplary practices of concurrent engineering
