Abstract
As a TV service provider, BT is faced with new requirements and technologies. New video formats, and new network technologies can be brought together to provide broadcast TV services that meet today´s needs and those of the future through a reasoned migration path. This paper discusses the types of TV services that could be required, and the issues that arise when these are to be transported over networks based upon the synchronous digital hierarchy (SDH)
