Abstract :
In recent years, forest pest occurs frequently and has caused tremendous loss in China. However, most of the forestry departments resort to stand-alone Forest Pest Management Information System, which can not report the information to a higher level department automatically. This leads to problems such as long report cycle, error-prone and low efficiency. Taking into account the work flow of provincial forest pest management we developed the Provincial Forest Pest Web Management Information System, which adopts OGC Web Map Service as the spatial visualization approach, and utilizes AJAX to improve user interactive experience. The system is applied in Liaoning and Fujian Province and preliminary results has been obtained.
