Abstract
In the paper the difference between field current and permanent magnet synchronous machine is emphasized from the point of view of the armature reaction. The proper design of the magnetic circuit is shown to be very important in order to have a good stability of the load steady state voltage. The existence of a certain degree of the magnetic circuit iron saturation has an important influence on the operating point of the permanent magnet. A simplified method of the permanent magnet synchronous machine analysis is developed in the paper in the defined hypothesis
