Abstract :
Summary form only given. Questions concerning the use of knowledge-based systems (KBS) are addressed, including the description and analysis of changes in the organizational and psycho-social work environment during the introduction and use of KBS; the formation of principles for the development and use of KBS which take advantage of Swedish experiences and traditions regarding the labor market and work environment; and assistance in the development of policies for a development of KBS that are based on existing knowledge concerning the relationship between KBS and the psycho-social work environment. The research questions include strategic aspects within the following traditional concepts, which must hence be constantly reexamined and redefined: company/organizational structure, occupation and work roles, work content, need of knowledge and education, worker participation and decision-making, leadership and management roles, human-human communication, and human-computer communication
