Abstract :
The paper presents the computer simulation of the steady-state performance of induction motors for diagnostic purposes. The case of broken rotor bars as the source of rotor electrical asymmetry was studied. Based on a mathematical model, the computer simulation of the influence of rotor cage defects on the torque and current characteristics of induction motors is performed. The authors show the relationship between the increasing number of broken bars and the degradation of steady-state characteristics of faulty induction motors
