Abstract :
A novel median filtering algorithm for de-interlacing is proposed in this paper. The algorithm distinguishes the motion part from the rest of one picture and adopts proper algorithm for de-interlacing: synthesized median filtering algorithm is applied to the motion part and the field replication algorithm is applied to the static part. The algorithm makes full use of correlative information between space and time dimension of video signals, it also overcomes existing algorithms´ shortcomings in the image. The algorithm has been implemented in software with test results of good quality. It can also be implemented in hardware with low cost.
