Abstract
The frequency dependence of the materials involved in subsurface media - soil, sand, water - is analyzed in this paper as well as the formation of the Brillouin precursor waveforms inherently related to this feature. First prototype of a frequency-based measurement system was built and used to obtain experimental data from sand in the frequency band of 0.5-3GHz. Some preliminary results using this system are presented.
