Abstract :
Analysis of signal transformations in the auditory periphery model, which includes first order neuron models, revealed several remarkable features which would be useful for a system of short acoustic pulses identification. This paper describes the model of the auditory periphery and the basic properties of pulses transformations within it. A description is also given of the identification system containing the periphery model as a preprocessing module as well as a block for reduction of signal description redundancy and for decision making. The model test results are also presented
