Abstract
Monitoring urban dynamics (MURBANDY) aims to provide a synoptic view of Europe´s urban areas and their dynamics using very high resolution satellite imagery. MURBANDY also measures past land uses and combines them with a socio-economic data-set to understand historical development of cities and develops scenarios of urban growth. Preliminary results show that most cities have more than doubled in size in the last 50 years
