Abstract
It is noted that optimal selection of a technology transfer channel depends upon the availability of local financial, human, and material resources as well as the degree of control the donor corporations would like to exercise in recipient countries. The authors examine four main channels of transfer of manufacturing technology to developing countries: turnkey plants, licensing agreements, joint-venture arrangements, and foreign subsidiaries to assist decision makers
