Abstract
In the framework of the composite-roughness model, frequency-angular spectra of sound radiation scattered by the sea surface with a stationary homogeneous subsurface current are computed. The current-induced changes of the spectra are shown to form a basis for the formulation of the inverse problem of subsurface water motion remote sensing. Factors, which may interfere with the proposed sensing technique, are noted
