Abstract :
Sustainable off-grid power systems are a cost efficient solution for the foundation of small electricity networks in rural areas, because the large distance from the grid makes it too expensive to supply electricity from the grid. This paper will introduce three sizing approaches and their consequences for the operation of such a system. The three design approaches are; No renewable energy dumping, optimal cost and completely renewable.
