Abstract
The sediment dredging project was conducted for eutrophication control in Dianchi Lake of China. Positive or negative results have been reported in other dredging places. The nitrogen and phosphorus in water and pore water of surface sediments in Dianchi Lake dredging areas were investigated to evaluate the effects of dredging project. The results showed that the deterioration of water quality did not happen, and the improvement effect was not obvious. The effective way to control eutrophication may be combine the dredging project with reestablishing aquatic macrophytes as well as decreasing external source pollution.
