A hyperlink-based algorithm incorporating hops between Web pages

This paper proposes a new ranking algorithm using the hyperlink-based concept with emphases on the number of hops between Web pages. Our proposed approach takes into consideration both the importance and the relevance of a Web page associated with a query phrase. Experiments are carried out to show that the proposed approach shows great promises.
