Abstract :
The UWB receiver based on frequency domain approach is made to be more CMOS friendly and lower complexity in hardware implementation. The paper proposes a novel frequency-domain receiving technique for UWB system, frequency-domain spectrum-optimal-combination (FD-SOC) technique. The performance of UWB receiver based on FD-SOC in IEEE 802.15.3a channel model is evaluated by computer simulation, and is compared with that of UWB MRC-Rake receiver with maximum likelihood (ME) channel estimation. Simulation results indicate that FD-SOC UWB receiver has good performance.
