Abstract
The purpose of this study is to develop a unique software protocol for a low power radio frequency network, in the 433 Mhz band, for the purpose of automatic initialization of nodes and remote setup of node parameters. A state-of-the-art routing protocol was developed to effectively route data packets through the network with low power consumption in mind. The algorithm that is proposed for the network use GPS coordinates to establish topographical coverage. Software was developed to determine distances between nodes. The second phase is to remove paths that are not within the minimum distance of two node controllers with clear line of site and electromagnetic propagation in mind. The shortest path to nodes is now determined by using Dijkstra´s algorithm. The routing algorithm can delete faulty nodes and paths from the routing table and redo the shortest path algorithm.
