  • Abstract
Coexistence and compatibility is an important issue needed to be considered in ultra-wideband (UWB) impulse radio communications. To avoid interference, one of our methods is to design appropriate pulse waveform. A new pulse design method is proposed as UWB pulse shapes by using the approximate prolate spheroidal wave functions (APSWF). The APSWF pulse meets the power spectral constraint of the FCC´s spectral mask. Its mathematical expression is simple and explicit. The UWB pulse waveform can be flexibly adjusted by this method when the spectral mask changed
