Abstract :
A novel cross-feed wide-band patch antenna is presented in this paper. Wide dipole is capacitively-loaded to realize a wide-band antenna element and two elements are cross-fed by parallel broadbrimmed coupled lines to actualize impedance match and enhance gain. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the antenna fabricated on a epsivr=2.6 permittivity substrate of h=1 mm thickness can achieve 53% impedance bandwidth (VSWR < 2.0) and maximal gain reaches 4.8 dBi, with perfect far-field radiant characteristics and stable phase center. The antenna is easy to design and fabricate and it has a wide application
