Abstract :
This paper is concerned with the problem of applying catastrophe theory in water resources assessment. Firstly, by using the Delphi method, the water resources evaluation indices system is developed. Secondly, by using the catastrophe theory, the water resources assessment model is introduced. Based on this water resources assessment model, we can obtain the pollution degree of the water resources, and by analysis the estimation results, we can develop a scheme to guide the decision-makers to improve the water resources quality. Finally, numerical example is given to show the effectiveness of the proposed theorems.
