Abstract
In this paper a new method for fast and accurate computation of the performance of an ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna in a two-antenna link configuration is developed. This method uses a full wave analysis of a single antenna which requires much less computational resources compared with a conventional two-antenna link analysis and combines its results with a circuit theory model of the antenna using the concept of antenna effective length. A typical UWB system consisting of a Tulip antenna link is employed to show the applicability of the proposed approach in the analysis and design of UWB systems. Numerical results are vindicated by comparing with the measurements.
