Abstract

Describes cases of developing strategic systems such as the Company-Wide Sales & Production Control System, the Company-Wide Comprehensive Production Technology Control System, and the Nippon Steel In-House Information & Communication System, which played an important role in overcoming the difficulties occurred by the oil crises of 1973 and 1978 and the sudden appreciation of the yen in the wake of the Plaza Agreement of 1985, and achieving a great improvement in the management structure of Nippon Steel Corporation
