Abstract :
A stratified structure which supports the propagation of infrared surface waves is designed. The dispersion and impedance characteristics of the surface waves are studied in detail for an array of square patches. The field propagation of basic TE and TM modes at different frequencies are studied. The impedance of the unit cell is evaluated for the frequency of 28.24 THz (λ=10.6 μm).
