Abstract :
The extraction method based on difference of collapsed buildings is improved with the characteristics of region in high resolution remote sensing images; multi-threshold segmentation, category filtration and mathematical morphology are introduced into the post-process and a method based on the segmentation of the differences of regions is proposed, which is successfully applied in the extraction of intact buildings. This new improved method is used to assess the calculation accuracy of an example of a block destroyed in Wenchuan earthquake, and is compared with the object-oriented method and visual interpretation method; the result shows this improved method is simpler, faster, more accurate and adaptable.
