Abstract :
Based on the theory of landscape ecological security pattern and the RS and GIS techniques, this paper analyzed the ecological security pattern in Taicang city in China. An evaluation index system of ecological security was constructed, including five indicators as biological corridor, vegetation coverage, scenic area, water area and slope. According to Liebig\´s "law of minimum", this study evaluated and identified the urban ecological security pattern in Taicang city. The conclusion suggests that the security of ecology in urban area could be ensured if the ecological security pattern is applied to guide urban growth.
