Abstract :
Recently, the passive DOAS measurement for emissions of pollutants is widely used, but the acquisitions of wind field data proved difficult. By using Pasquill-Turner stability classification method, this paper carried out a number of contrasts and analyses between different kinds of wind field data under different atmospheric stability conditions. Comparisons were made between the wind field which was collected from two different observation data sources and the wind field of MM5 with the different stability of atmosphere. Under neutral atmospheric condition or slightly unstable condition (C-D class or D class), the wind data of MM5 (10m, 150m) were in good agreement with the observed data from weather station and wind profile radar respectively. With the use of MM5 wind data, the SO2 emission flux which was monitored by passive DOAS was calculated to 0.086kg/s and 0.043kg/s on 16th and 24th October and were in good agreement with CEMS data, which quote 0.096kg/s and 0.049kg/s respectively under the neutral weather systems (D class) .Therefore, this paper presents that the wind field data of MM5 can effectively compensate the deficiencies of observation data under the neutral atmospheric condition in territorial monitoring which was based on mobile passive DOAS measurements.
