Abstract
This paper describes the current trend in microwave instrumentation. It shows how miniaturization has made possible the large scale integration of microwave module which previously would have remained as discrete connectorised units. With integration comes the problems of leakage, interference and crosstalk. The paper describes the measures required to deal with these problems and also proposes the advantages which can be gained from multipurpose instruments
