Photovoltaic Generators in RAI Television Repeaters: 6-Year Operation

Since 1975 the RAI has been exploiting 13 television repeating stations with photovoltaic generators. The analysis of the data gathered after a 6-year operation has proved that, in the search of optimized feeding costs, the use of solar energy represents a convenient choice both from a technical and an economic viewpoint. It has also permitted to verify planning criteria and systems adopted and finally has laid the basis for a deeper knowledge of techniques and criteria to adopt for maintenance and operation of the system itself.
