Abstract :
Summary form only given. The Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) has established a Plasma Based nano-technology Laboratory (PBNL) to study the effects of plasma(s) during the synthesis of various nano particles. Additionally a key component of the nano laboratory mission is to investigate plasma wall interactions on PSI materials. The laboratory is currently fitted with a plasma arc experiment and an electron diffusion gauge experiment to conduct the preliminary experiments in these areas. Another area of interest is the fabrication of longer length carbon nano-tubes, including the fabrication of ultra thin graphene. The development of nano-fabrication processes employing plasma based technologies and control is a newly developing field. The paper will discuss the capabilities for conducting these areas of nano-technology research.
