Abstract :
GPS application in the city is an active topic currently: it can provide a new way to establish the intelligent vehicle/highway system (IVHS). This paper describes the structure and realization of the “vehicle monitoring system”, which takes advantages of DGPS technique to improve the position accuracy in narrow streets of the city. Experiments are done to verify the effectiveness of this system. Also the compensation of possible GPS signal masking and the powerful functions of the center control terminal are considered
