Abstract :
Direct computer control of industrial processes over wireless conduit is just beginning to get momentum among the manufacturing industries. Historically, it was restricted to space industry. Manufacturing industries preferred distributed control over direct computer control partly for the fact that the computer were not so reliable and reliable ones were quite expensive to be cost effective. As the computers are becoming more affordable and reliable, the direct computer control systems are being adopted by industry for monitoring and controlling of industrial processes. The process control scheme combines the power of computer processing and convenience of wireless conduit in one control system. We believe that the industrial process can be controlled from a computer over a wireless conduit. We also believe that the wireless direct computer control of an industrial process can be achieved through many of the currently available technologies. In this paper a direct computer control with a dependable wireless conduit for controlling, testing and monitoring of a remotely located rotating electric machine is presented. Several case studies are performed to validate the performance of the suggested control scheme. The results of the case studies are presented and finally a conclusion with recommendation for the future work is given
