Abstract :
This paper presents the experimental results on the distribution of turbulent intensity around diversion points at multi-anabranch river with three braid bars. A physical model of multi-anabranch river with three braid bars was established. It consists of a straight main channel which divides into multiple branch channels of different widths. The detailed measurements of velocity in 8 sections around diversion points were conducted by using an Acoustic Doppler Velocimeter. For each diversion point, three measured cross-sections have been employed. The lateral-averaged and depth-averaged turbulence intensity per section were calculated in the branches. Variety trend of three component of the lateral-averaged turbulence intensity from the bottom to the surface was obtained. The values of depth-averaged turbulence intensity along lateral of the cross-section were also discussed.
