Abstract :
Compression Connectors have been used for many years in power and control wiring. Recent tests have verified compression connectors can withstand high magnitude fault currents. This coupled with the inherent stability of the compression method makes them particularly valuable where stable impedance bonding and the ability to handle high current surges are needed. For maximum effectiveness, the whole connection must be considered. The compression formed interface between the cable and connector must be made with the correct installing tool and die. Attention must also be given the connection to the bus. Proper bolting hardware and technique and surface preparation will pay dividends in the long run.
