Abstract :
A new variable structure control (VSC) scheme, IOEVSC (integral of output error variable structure control), is proposed. The IOEVSC is composed of the servo compensator and output feedback VSC with dynamic switching function. The servo compensator which is designed for the output variable enhances the robustness for all the types of disturbance. Also, it is possible that effective tracking is achieved without using error dynamics. The proposed dynamic switching function is able to remove the assumption of full state availability. Therefore, the proposition of the dynamic switching function makes practical implementation of the output feedback VSC scheme possible. The proposed IOEVSC is applied to the practical design of a robust DC servo control system and the control performances are evaluated through simulations and experiments
