Abstract :
Desktop computer power management has become a major design issue in the PC and PC power supply industry as a result of the EPA´s Energy Star Computer program. This paper depicts a cost-effective approach to the design of power management for desktop computers and CRT-based monitors. Furthermore, from a power system perspective, this paper describes how various advanced power technologies developed for portable computers are making their migration to the desktop computer systems
