Abstract :
A new modulation technique for a polyphase rectifier is proposed. This technique is based upon the conception that instantaneous value of energy flow is constant both in a balanced polyphase system and in a DC system; brings low input harmonic current, high power factor and low output ripple voltage without a large filter. This paper describes the basic theory of an Energy-Constant Modulated Rectifier, the realization and experimental data of the first prototype (AC 3¿ 200V, DC 48V 30A).
