Abstract :
A semiconductor laser subjected to filtered optical feedback is considered. This system is well-described by Lang-Kobayashi-type rate equations for the inversion N and the complex electric fields of the semiconductor laser, and of the filter. Mathematically, the rate equations are a system of delay differential equations with a single fixed delay that is due to the finite propagation time of the light through the external loop that contains the filter. This paper performs a bifurcation study of the full delay differential equation model, where external filtered modes is considered as basic solutions of the system
