Abstract :
In this paper, we investigate diversity combining schemes for OFDM wireless LAN systems with antenna array. Current standards were designed for diversity selection instead of combining. It is well known that the combining results in a higher receiver gain than the selection. However, the combining requires significantly more complexity than the selection. This paper is focused on implementing a low-complexity diversity combining scheme, which reduces the complexity in vector channel estimation. We demonstrate the performance of the proposed combining scheme via computer simulations.
