Abstract :
The basic principle of trellis source coding is introduced and the design method for trellis source coding system is described, with an emphasis on the design of the trellis codebook using a training sequence. Speech is used as the source, and the computer simulation results show that trellis speech coding can reach fairly good performance at the bit rate of 8 kb/s
