Abstract :
The authors describe the Westinghouse/JRS microcompiler and its use on the WSP. They present the microcompiler from the user´s point of view, giving a hardware overview, the programming methodology, and the support software flow. Then they present the microcompiler from the implementer´s point of view, focusing on the front end, descriptor, intermediate language optimizer, and code generator portions. Benefits, status, and future work are discussed
