Abstract :
The Spallation Neutron Source accelerator complex consists of a 2.5 MeV H" front-end injector system, a 186 MeV normal-conducting linear accelerator, a 1 GeV superconducting linear accelerator, an accumulator ring and associated beam transport lines. Since completion of the construction project in June 2006, attention has focused on ramping up the performance of the SNS accelerator complex to the design parameters, and on neutron scattering instrument commissioning and obtaining early science results. Recent operational history will be presented.
