Abstract :
Based on Carlin´s (see IEEE Trans. Circuits and Systems, vol.CA5-24, no.4, p.170-5, 1977) real frequency technique, the author presents a new approach, the pole optimization technique (POT), to realize broadband design of interstage equalizers for multistage microwave amplifiers. Avoiding the time consuming task of solving the zeroes of polynomials which is necessary in Carlin´s theory, POT realizes the optimum design of equalizers by directly optimizing the poles of the network admittance function, and experiences show that it is particularly applicable to multistage design. Formulations of the algorithm and design procedures are outlined and some design results are also given
