Abstract :
For the indirect field-oriented control of an induction motor employing a fast-response current-source cycloconverter, a suitable form of discrete-time model, considering measurement noises of the system variables of the motor, is established to facilitate high-performance control. A special algorithm is developed to facilitate simultaneous effective assessment of the motor parameters and evaluation of voltage references essential for the feedforward control of the power converter. The application of the instrumental variables estimation method in the algorithm has proved to be particularly useful in realistic noisy environments
