Abstract :
In this paper, a digital signal processing approach using a Digital Wave Network Model (DWN), for analysing system performance is described. The DWN is used to simulate the behavior of systems and to provide an approach for carrying out modifications. The modeling of systems is simplified by treating systems as transmission lines and the performance modeling is accessed by introducing signal and noise interactions. To illustrate the practicality of this approach, a commercial available paging unit is used. The system performance is compared by adjusting the sensitivity of the system in the presence of burst and random noise and the results are presented
