Abstract :
A method for designing switched-capacitor (SC) four quadrant analogue multiplier (4-QAM) is presented. First the structural parasitic effect involving stray capacitance is discussed and a design standard of nonlinear SC integrated circuits is obtained. Based on this, a novel stray-insensitive SC 4-QAM is designed. Thereupon, two structures of SC 4-QAM circuits are derived: stray-sensitive and stray-insensitive. Then, the effects of various nonideal factors on both SC 4-QAM circuits are analyzed in detail using the general method of time-Z-domain close-form analysis. Fully differential SC 4-QAM with clock feedthrough and operational amplifier offset compensation is presented to minimize and eliminate the influence of nonlinear effects. Finally, static and dynamic parameters of SC 4-QAM are defined and computer-aided analysis on both SC 4-QAMs is carried out
