Abstract :
This paper investigates electro-optic mapping for physical layer encryption. Preliminary results show that discrete time chaos can be obtained experimentally, which could be implemented in the future for application to optical packet data encryption at the physical layer. A modified architecture is also proposed to implement a chaotic phase modulation of the optical pulses.
