Abstract
This paper investigates the ultrafast photoswitching dynamics of fulgides. The reaction dynamics of a representative of the fulgides exhibiting reversible ring opening and closure reaction is investigated with femtosecond time resolved spectroscopy, complemented with time resolved fluorescence measurements on the photochromic compounds in a Kerr shutter setup.
