Abstract :
This paper presents impact of mechanical motor noise on channel propagation parameters in an underground mine. The reported results are based on experimental data obtained during a measurement campaign in the mine around 5.8 GHz. The measurements were performed in an experimental gold mine located in Val d´Or, Qc, Canada at 40m below ground level using two different scenarios. In the first case, the motor was turned off while, in the second case, the engine was running. Based on the measured data, the impact of mechanical motor noise on some channel propagation parameters in the underground mine are analyzed and discussed.
