Abstract :
A systematic design method is proposed for the broadband lossy match amplifier. This method models a lossy matching network as the combination of a series impedance and a parallel admittance. Some new immittance circles have been derived on the Smith chart to obtain the optimum combination of the series and parallel immittances. Using the proposed method, design examples of ultra-broadband amplifiers operating from DC to 12 GHz frequency range are presented
